IT WAS TERRIBLE.
But like I think...it wasn't the worst until Kaoru died. \'-'/ Prior to that, it was just OH LOOK ANOTHER BAD GAME, THIS SUCKS because Coral was panicking but in a way that was like "lets do this fast and get it over with". Firebird's games, Odile's game, and Three's elevator game were worse in terms of in-team trauma.
The reason this one was particular terrifying though was the parasites idea! That was never a thing he thought about before! Limb cutting, heart exploding, VAPORATING, drowning, all those were terrors he already experienced and could prep for. PARASITES WERE LIKE...AN UNEXPECTED TERROR which are worse. So gross and so terrifying :'(
AND THEN OF COURSE KAORU DIED AND HE WAS UPSET AND ANGRY AND JUST...8') AATHER PLEASE STOP WITH THESE GAMES. WHY CAN'T I DO ANYTHING TO CHANGE THESE THINGS, MY POOR BROTHER. In general, he's favoring shoving his own feelings aside to take care of Kaoru which is a) healthy and b) unhealthy. Lol.

The parasite thing was probably the worst thing on him too, and he will definitely have nightmares about it, especially since Aoko and Sapphire died \:'D/ He's very disturbed and unsettled by that aspect, and he's very upset like... the knights and Carnelian and Sapphire and Peridot and Jasper died so he's just internally trying to deal with a lot of upset and disgust by turning his focus on other people. MUCH LIKE HIKARU IS DOING REALLY.
So yeah. The game itself was standard, though the parasite thing and the knights/Sapphire dying really shook him up.

No for real, his attitude atm is "if Kaoru does it, I'm gonna do it too" but...he'd rather not...Kaoru break the key. He saw what it did with Mikado and it's like NOPE. I don't want bro to experience that. He doesn't feel as tied down to the key so he kind of sees it as stupidly reckless but hitachiins gotta hitachiin sometime \'-'/ and he understands where his bro is coming from cuz hikaru HAS felt tied down with things not related to the keys (such as when monsters were out and he couldn't do anything about it).

He is afraid that he won't be as important to Kaoru as Kaoru is important to him. Kaoru is his bro! His twin! A connection that he doesn't share with anyone else. And now, technically he is sharing it with another person and perhaps, if this is Kaoru's Hikaru (since he is certain he, himself, isn't Kaoru's Hikaru), that Hikaru will obviously know even more than he does. Add his insecurities of abandonment into the mix and it just becomes a nightmare :'|
HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE JEALOUS. He is going to try to get along with other Hikaru! But he's going to be forever afraid that Kaoru is going to love his other self just a little more.
How would Setsuna feel if he met another version of himself? 'w'

HE'S...something. '-' Having Kaoru in Aather is just a RELIEF in some ways. Though he's not insanely dependent on Kaoru like he was in early canon, he still loves his brother dearly and not having him around was just like...you're missing a part of yourself. On the other hand, he's godly upset that he is here because he's already taking so much pain and injury and now DEATH, and it's like...please go home, bro. ,_, I can't stand to sit and watch you get hurt more. You don't deserve this.
But since it's already done, he's gonna try to do his best to do whatever he can to protect his bro. '-' But lol Aather, there's only so much you can do. TL;DR HIS COPING MECHANISM IS TAKING ON A LOT OF STRESS. HOORAY.
