BUT OUTSIDE OF THAT, HE ENDED UP...REALLY.....LIKING HER............... oops? Like he is so protective over her, it's kind of gross. '-' Like I think if there was ANYTHING that would make him stepford smile in Coral, it would be in a trauma game so he doesn't cause Rin to panic more than necessary. I mean, she was in Hikaru's spot when he first arrived! Grumpy little rich kid that expected people to do things for them.
But even then, it's more than that. He's starting to realize that she is following him almost like a little duckling? Like when he disappeared, she freaked out. When he wasn't looking, she got him a gift. '-' And...and it's kind of cute because I think this is the first time he has gotten attention in that big bro way vs "omg he's our baby so lets do nice things for him" way. I dunno how to convey that better but yes! HE'S DEVELOPED A TERRIBLE FONDNESS FOR HER AND IF SOMEONE TOUCHES HER, HE MIGHT END UP STABBING SAID PERSON IN THE KNEES.
Oh yes, and as a side tidbit, she is actually sort of a Kaoru replacement in the ways Kit cannot be. :|a Kit is the main bro but he is also still a "big bro" to Hikaru. With Rin, she is the little sibling and a big part of his character arc was owning up to his big broness! So yes.

Right so 8|a Atttt this point I would say that Kit and Shark and Dragonfly are the three people in Aather that she relies on the most? And it's like. In terms of hierarchy of PEOPLE WHO SHE WOULD LISTEN TO it would be like [Kit] [Shark] and then Dragonfly floats in between depending on the situation. If it were just a simple stupid tiff she would defer to Kit or Shark over him, but the more serious the situation becomes, the more heavily she refers to his thoughts and opinions on things, because she DOES realize that out of everyone in Aather, Dragonfly is the one person who actually understands what it's like to be rich and privileged and thus completely a fish out of water when it comes to to not having that any more. I didn't actually consider Coral as a possibility for her, but looking back, I think Dragonfly being there and knowing how to speak her language, as it were, kept her from being a lot more weepy and tantrumy than she could have been, and isn't that terrifying. '-'
SO HONESTLY AS IT IS, Rin probably listens more closely and carefully to the things Dragonfly says than anyone else. She doesn't actually ... know how to have fun or be silly and teasing, I think, but she accepts it from him the easiest, also because he's proven that he'll both a) still be nice to her later and b) is snippy back in a way she understands and doesn't ... take her seriously ... (She wants to be taken seriously, but there are different DEGREES of seriousness, and he gets that and she is glad.)
(She also hasn't forgotten that a persona made him sad by taking his boyfriend away and has stored this knowledge away for later.)
And I think that if they continue in this vein she will actually take it pretty well when Kaoru gets in. :|a Because I know she will be jealous no matter what, but she already likes him enough (and also he is on her team and that can't be taken away) that she would try very very hard not to upset him or be pushy about it, which is probably the most telling thing about how she feels about him, I think. :|a
