Kit is actually really taken off guard by the fact that there's something SO BAD Dragonfly won't talk to him about it, especially since Dragonfly was always the one pushing him to be more honest about things. On one hand, he respects people's privacy and their right to hold secrets, which is why he hates prying into these kinds of matters. On the other hand, his worry from Dragonfly and the sheer WEIRDNESS of Dragonfly not talking overrides that, which is why he's pressing about it so much (though he's backed off for the time being to give Dragonfly a bit more space). He trusts and loves Dragonfly a lot at this point, especially with his own personal emotional well-being, and he really wants Dragonfly to trust him in return! So even if he dropped the subject for now, he's likely to bring it up again in the future just to prove that Dragonfly can rely on him as much as Dragonfly has let Kit rely on him in return.
Dragonfly is definitely family in Kit's eyes at this point. A sort of brother! Someone he can have fun with, someone who can tease him and he can tease back, and someone he just. Really feels comfortable around and wants to protect as much as he can. He's definitely one of the people Kit feels closest to in Aather... if not the person Kit is closest to (barring Aoko who has canon relationships and such). So yes, there's a lot of love and trust and reliance there. It's not codependency... not quite? But it's really borderline sometimes.
