I am not sure how it came to be, but Drift soon became really important to Natsume! Like I think one of the important things to note is how he was able to ask Drift to be his friend which he hadn't done before! But he wanted to try so OBVIOUSLY, he likes him enough!
He's pretty good at looking through Drift's tsuntsun because he has experience with that with demons olol. DEMONS THAT ACT MEAN but in reality are kind of gooshy inside. Drift gets angry BECAUSE he cares for Natsume and he'll go around and try to make Natsume feel better about himself! Natsume has picked up these feelings, man. Natsume seriously feels super lucky to have someone care about him so much! So much to the point that he's gonna try the effort to go against his memories and be more honest and try not to shoulder all the blame upon himself. '3'
HE WISHES DRIFT WOULD DO THE SAME THOUGH. He's starting to notice that Drift seems to have this thing where he expects people to yell at him, and Natsume is kind of ":|a" at that. REALLY THOUGH at its base it's like, Natsume sort of started out as :|a for Drift. Like he didn't really think much of him until Natsume asked to be friends! Then he was like :O!! friendship! this is a thing I want to try! (because he had heard about it before but didn't understand the concept of it) and then that was that. What really got Drift to care about Natsume, though, was getting his derederederefriends memories right after he declared Natsume as his mutual friend! So Natsume as a friend is like :I my friend mine go away I want to do stuff with him but it's not like I like him or anything!! only we're friends so mine :I NATSUME IS V IMPORTANT because as his memories have taught him friends are good warm things and you want to keep them and they're nice and and and '-' So in general he is a lot nicer... ish... (in his own way) and lenient with Natsume because he already decided that Natsume is important, so anything Natsume does mostly adds to that.
That said! He also thinks Natsume is dumb, because Natsume is really trusting and nice and naive and really insecure about (what Drift thinks) are silly things!! IF HE IS GOING TO DO THOSE THINGS he might as well do them in not dumb ways, god! And since friends look out for each other he feels like he's not wrong to scold Natsume! Which is different than when he does this to others, since the intent is to correct, not to criticize. So he really wants to help Natsume to be less insecure and more chill with things! (Developing a sense of Persona Danger is pressing but has been slotted as a secondary goal for now.) So despite all his MAN NATSUME IS TOO X AND Y AND HE NEEDS TO STOP DOING Z he only cares so much because he likes Natsume!! I... I started rambling but the point was that he is a lot more emotionally invested in Natsume, especially since Natsume was his first friend in Aather. HE REALLY WANTS TO BE A GOOD FRIEND BECAUSE OF THAT but he also expects Natsume to be able to manage his own affairs and be sensible, which does lead to frustration of...ten :'D
Okay I'm sorry I apparently write my relationship responses like timelines. BUT OKAY so in regards to their latest thread, Drift was able to see a lot of stuff that previously annoyed him about Natsume in a different light? Like, he's still annoyed by them but it's not just like. GOD NATSUME IS TOO NICE :\ it's also like GOD WHY IS NATSUME SO NICE (to me!!) ._.!! Perspective! Drift generally has really low expectations and super easy to meet emotional needs (though he often obscures them with his dumb and tsun) but Natsume was able to mash a lot of his pings and say a lot of the right thing which really frustrated Drift but Natsume also gained like a million dere points. THERE WAS MORE GOING ON IN THAT THREAD but basically he's just like. frustrated. because there are a lot of things that weren't addressed but a lot of things that were so he's in bit of an awkward position where he wants to hoard Natsume because mine :I and he's like BUT THINGS AREN'T RESOLVED!!. He has been wondering if he can be a good enough friend for Natsume because Natsume is the bee's knees the end so he wants to try harder!! To make up for him being himself and for his outburst because even if Natsume says it's okay Drift thinks it's unacceptable, especially as a friend :B So, awkward mghmdkgh what do i do nowww + ......../////// stupid natsume it's not like i like you or anything!!

But as for my question! What was Natsume thinking during their last thread?
First of all, JUST GETTING TO THE POINT TO GO UP AND TALK TO DRIFT PROBABLY TOOK HIM FOREVER. Friends are also important to him obviously, but in the point that he knows that loneliness is the WORST thing ever. He remembers his childhood was lonely, that he WANTED to grow up lonely, but was so happy to have relatives too. So he just knows that really, LOSING PEOPLE IS TERRIBLE. And the fact that he thought he was gonna lose Drift and their friendship was VERY SCARY and it was something he didn't want.
I forgot what thread it was, I THINK IT WAS ONE WITH STEALTH, but it made him realize that he couldn't just hide from that! BUT HE IS STILL NATSUME without any of his stronger memories so he can only...do so much lol. So he tried the bracelet because at least it shows that he isn't running away completely, AT LEAST IN HIS EYES. '-'
And then they talked and GOSH HE WAS VERY NERVOUS THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE THING. Talking about his childhood was actually VERY PAINFUL. He tried to include as much detail as he could, but it wasn't something he was able to do still. It was a start though! But gosh, that memory was one that broke him down because it made him realize that he lived in an unstable world that no one could see but him. BUT YEAH, he was able to talk a little about it which is important!
Uh, what else...
OH THE HUG THING LOL. It happened because he remembered it VERY RECENTLY being a very warm feeling and it seemed like Drift needed it. HE WANTED TO TRY AND SHARE THAT MEMORY IN THAT WAY. So it's more of him showing trust more so than affection if that makes sense.
I ALSO MENTIONED THE WHOLE, "I WISH DRIFT WOULD TAKE CARE OF HIMSELF" PART TOO. '3' Because that part really did put things in a strange perspective for Natsume that he hadn't seen before! It makes him want to take care of the bunny :c MORE REASON FOR HIM NOT TO LEAVE YOU ALONE.
OVERALL THOUGH, THE ULTIMATE FEELING WAS LOTS OF RELIEF. He realized how important friendship was! He realized how nice it felt to be able to resolve problems! And while he knows that not everything has been "fixed", he knows that at least they can try to do it together. '^'
So kill game happens, Natsume dies but comes back to life. '3' HOW WOULD THAT AFFECT DRIFT?

Natsume likes Kit a lot! I think I babbled to this to you before but despite teh fact that they sort of disagree on the persona terms, he thinks Kit is a very nice guy! He wants to be like you! :o Although IF HE FINDS OUT THAT YOU'RE THE GUY WITH THE POKER FACE, he'll start looking at you with a :( face. He also kept a lot of his emotions back SO IT'LL MAKE HIM FEEL SAD TO KNOW THERE'S ANOTHER GUY WHO DOES THAT OUT THERE.
YOU ARE SO IMPORTANT TO HIKARU NOW SOB. Like, idk how it happened but suddenly Hikaru is always wanting to bother Kit. That thing in the Green Knight's game? Gosh, it made him so sad and happy at the same time. SAD because he remember feeling annoyed at Kit for replacing Banjou (who was just as important to him at the time!) in the beginning but now he realizes that Kit really is a cool guy and so THERE WAS A LITTLE BIT OF GUILT. :( STILL, HE IS GLAD TO CALL YOU A FELLOW CORAL, MY MONKEEEEY. ♥

Natsume: Definitely likes Natsume! He's a little soft-spoken for Kaito's tastes, but that doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy talking to him! He thinks Natsume should be a bit more wary of the Personae, but he does realize that not all of the Personae are bad, so there is no judgement on his part on Natsume's opinions. He admitted himself he wants to get to know the Personae more anyway, despite his suspicious, so! Must talk to Natsume more :B
Hikaru: NOT MUCH HAS CHANGED HERE REALLY. Kit is still super super fond of Hikaru as a teammate and a friend, and he enjoys teasing him and poking at him and laughing with him. He meant it when he said he enjoyed Hikaru's company because he laughed-- especially since he realizes that Hikaru takes things like trauma-y games and lost teammates really hard. It's part of the reason he goes out of his way to cheer Hikaru up with jokes and things, because HEART AND SMILE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS (though he'd never say that out loud since that phrase is based on memories). And Kit is just a jokey guy by nature, so having someone willing to join in on that is very nice! He and Hikaru are also both super duper troublemakers, and he definitely recognizes the troublemaker in Hikaru, so one day he is probably going to recruit him for a prank or something |D
And of course, in addition to all that, Kit feels very protective of Hikaru, and has no problems stepping forward and shielding his bro from danger. :|b This also means that Kit has no problems putting himself in danger for this so... orz.

In fact, when Rolo was like, "what, he isn't that great", MIKA WAS SO CONFUSED. He couldn't understand that sort of mentality at all AND SO, it kind of annoyed him quite a bit. I mean, even HE can tell that Lucifer is the shiz, how can no one else notice? IT BAFFLES HIM. And this is how he shows his dere. While he isn't like, "KYAAAA BRO <3_<3", he shows it by recognizing/defending how great Lucifer IS, and will defend it no matter who tries to argue with him. His team doesn't speak too much about their memories and things like that so sometimes he wishes that he could talk to people about that stuff, but he knows that if it came up, he wouldn't feel embarrassed telling Luke that. By the time Fawn arrived, he was already resolved into thinking that he'll NEVER GET CLOSE TO ANYBODY SINCE THEY'RE JUST GONNA LEAVE ANYWAY--
And then he ended up liking her. :| She's always so happy and adorable and weird and it's kind of hard NOT to be attracted to that sort of peppiness. She's also ridiculously daring?! So like if you merged Kit and Shirley together and they had a baby, IT WOULD BE CHUCK. WHICH IS ALL SORTS OF WEIRD. BUT ENDEARING.
So in general, first impressions were surprisingly REALLY GOOD LOL! But he also now has this weird urge to protect Chuck from doing stupid things BUT IT SEEMS TO KEEP FAILING. Sob. Why did Aather have to bring in this really nice girl? :(

Chuck is just kind of prancing around doing her thing! But she can tell Dragonfly was hesitant at first and she can also tell that she got to him. She's willing to not talk about things as long as he is, but she'll always try to find little moments to give him an extra hug or surreptitiously nose around why he acts the way he does.
I think she is taking on an older sister role already, though. She wants to love him and make sure he's doing okay while not really talking about herself much or sharing too much information. So maybe this is just like with a lot of her other relationships: very surface oriented. But I feel like with Dragonfly, she's more likely to try to take moments to quietly remind him that she's sticking around.
CHUCK I CANNOT HANDLE YOU '-' Hikaru will take solace that she's stickin' around.
Ultimately, it is a family to him! If there is one thing that keeps him from being too traumatized by certain events, it is Coral and the fact that it exists so as long as he always has Coral, he'll be okay! Really, his mindset is almost sort of Coral is the center and everything else revolves around it so really, it's pretty much his foundation in Aather! He does have a couple of issues, but they really are more worries if anything. Loooooove for pink team
The initial resentment towards new members is pretty much faded by this point! He has been able to realize that new members don't mean to replace the older members so it isn't fair to resent them for it! He, himself, replaced someone obv. important, but the older members didn't resent HIM for it so. The initial hesitation with Chuck is more fear of getting close and her disappearing vs. her replacing someone! BUT now it is starting to fade away because Chuck is magical sunshine. :|

Human!Mikage is super silly and it brings out the silly in him! I mention this to all his silly friends but THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HIKARU because Aather kind of traumatized him for a bit 8D I mean while Aather is not constantly dark, dark, dark, the events that happened so far, he never got to experience that in his canon! So it makes him really sad and not wanting to trust this place whatsoever, but Mikage and others help to uplift his spirits a lot. So you are a very important person to him! YOU'RE A REAL PAL, I WOULD GET NAKED WITH YOU ANYDAY.

Outside of castmates, Hikaru is EASILY one of Mikage's favorite people. FRIEND!!
The silly thing is actually a big part of it for him too. Talking to a lot of friendly, casual people and leftover babydragon mindset has had Mikage figure out pretty quickly how to just be silly and have fun, but he has a lot of hidden insecurity going on. All of his human memories have had Mikage being confident! and inspired! and he had a ~♥~best friend~♥~ ...and aather!Mikage feels like he hasn't been living up to the potential of who he was before, and it builds on lingering issues from his first few days in Aather when some people would react negatively to the babydragon thing (challenging him for explanations, treating him much more coolly than Burupya, etc.). He's found people he can pal around with, but with that lingering doubt and in comparision to ~TEITO~ most of them feel kind of shallow, and he's not too confident about his knighthood either.
Hikaru was reliably fun to dork around with, and Mikage has hardly had to force any cheeriness with him, and he adapted to the babydragon thing quickly. And uses Burupya for cuddle therapy! YAY I'M BEING USEFUL!! So Hikaru was already generally great, but then he went and became the first person outside canonmates to directly acknowledge Mikage as a friend ;-; And he invited human!Mikage to Coral that one time, which as Mikage said in that thread, he'd never really been in anyone's cabin other than as Burupya. So Hikaru has pretty effectively countered some of his issues and established himself as one of the more important people in Aather.
What this also means is that whenever he gets a severely upsetting memory (ONLY A MATTER OF TIME, WHAT WITH THAT MURDERED THING), Hikaru will be the one he goes to after Hakuren or Konatsu.

I started rambling but the point was that he is a lot more emotionally invested in Natsume, especially since Natsume was his first friend in Aather. HE REALLY WANTS TO BE A GOOD FRIEND BECAUSE OF THAT but he also expects Natsume to be able to manage his own affairs and be sensible, which does lead to frustration of...ten :'D
Okay I'm sorry I apparently write my relationship responses like timelines. BUT OKAY so in regards to their latest thread, Drift was able to see a lot of stuff that previously annoyed him about Natsume in a different light? Like, he's still annoyed by them but it's not just like. GOD NATSUME IS TOO NICE :\ it's also like GOD WHY IS NATSUME SO NICE (to me!!) ._.!! Perspective! Drift generally has really low expectations and super easy to meet emotional needs (though he often obscures them with his dumb and tsun) but Natsume was able to mash a lot of his pings and say a lot of the right thing which really frustrated Drift but Natsume also gained like a million dere points. THERE WAS MORE GOING ON IN THAT THREAD but basically he's just like. frustrated. because there are a lot of things that weren't addressed but a lot of things that were so he's in bit of an awkward position where he wants to hoard Natsume because mine :I and he's like BUT THINGS AREN'T RESOLVED!!. He has been wondering if he can be a good enough friend for Natsume because Natsume is the bee's knees the end so he wants to try harder!! To make up for him being himself and for his outburst because even if Natsume says it's okay Drift thinks it's unacceptable, especially as a friend :B So, awkward mghmdkgh what do i do nowww + ......../////// stupid natsume it's not like i like you or anything!!
tl;dr Natsume is important and pretty much has a pet rabbit now. That will kick anyone who makes him cry in the teeth. :')

First of all, JUST GETTING TO THE POINT TO GO UP AND TALK TO DRIFT PROBABLY TOOK HIM FOREVER. Friends are also important to him obviously, but in the point that he knows that loneliness is the WORST thing ever. He remembers his childhood was lonely, that he WANTED to grow up lonely, but was so happy to have relatives too. So he just knows that really, LOSING PEOPLE IS TERRIBLE. And the fact that he thought he was gonna lose Drift and their friendship was VERY SCARY and it was something he didn't want.
I forgot what thread it was, I THINK IT WAS ONE WITH STEALTH, but it made him realize that he couldn't just hide from that! BUT HE IS STILL NATSUME without any of his stronger memories so he can only...do so much lol. So he tried the bracelet because at least it shows that he isn't running away completely, AT LEAST IN HIS EYES. '-'
And then they talked and GOSH HE WAS VERY NERVOUS THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE THING. Talking about his childhood was actually VERY PAINFUL. He tried to include as much detail as he could, but it wasn't something he was able to do still. It was a start though! But gosh, that memory was one that broke him down because it made him realize that he lived in an unstable world that no one could see but him. BUT YEAH, he was able to talk a little about it which is important!
Uh, what else...
OH THE HUG THING LOL. It happened because he remembered it VERY RECENTLY being a very warm feeling and it seemed like Drift needed it. HE WANTED TO TRY AND SHARE THAT MEMORY IN THAT WAY. So it's more of him showing trust more so than affection if that makes sense.
I ALSO MENTIONED THE WHOLE, "I WISH DRIFT WOULD TAKE CARE OF HIMSELF" PART TOO. '3' Because that part really did put things in a strange perspective for Natsume that he hadn't seen before! It makes him want to take care of the bunny :c MORE REASON FOR HIM NOT TO LEAVE YOU ALONE.
OVERALL THOUGH, THE ULTIMATE FEELING WAS LOTS OF RELIEF. He realized how important friendship was! He realized how nice it felt to be able to resolve problems! And while he knows that not everything has been "fixed", he knows that at least they can try to do it together. '^'
So kill game happens, Natsume dies but comes back to life. '3' HOW WOULD THAT AFFECT DRIFT?

Natsume likes Kit a lot! I think I babbled to this to you before but despite teh fact that they sort of disagree on the persona terms, he thinks Kit is a very nice guy! He wants to be like you! :o Although IF HE FINDS OUT THAT YOU'RE THE GUY WITH THE POKER FACE, he'll start looking at you with a :( face. He also kept a lot of his emotions back SO IT'LL MAKE HIM FEEL SAD TO KNOW THERE'S ANOTHER GUY WHO DOES THAT OUT THERE.
YOU ARE SO IMPORTANT TO HIKARU NOW SOB. Like, idk how it happened but suddenly Hikaru is always wanting to bother Kit. That thing in the Green Knight's game? Gosh, it made him so sad and happy at the same time. SAD because he remember feeling annoyed at Kit for replacing Banjou (who was just as important to him at the time!) in the beginning but now he realizes that Kit really is a cool guy and so THERE WAS A LITTLE BIT OF GUILT. :( STILL, HE IS GLAD TO CALL YOU A FELLOW CORAL, MY MONKEEEEY. ♥
Though one thing that makes him nervous is that Kit seems to...get into danger a lot. That EYE thing? 8| STUPID. Climbing to the top of trees? STUPID. 8| God, he really is going to want to punch you in the gut and keep you at home if you don't stop doing these stupid things!!!!!1! Because despite the fact that he isn't as afraid to play in games anymore, HE KNOWS DANGER = DEATH and he refuses to let anyone on Coral die ever again if he can help it. SO STOP IT. >:U

Natsume: Definitely likes Natsume! He's a little soft-spoken for Kaito's tastes, but that doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy talking to him! He thinks Natsume should be a bit more wary of the Personae, but he does realize that not all of the Personae are bad, so there is no judgement on his part on Natsume's opinions. He admitted himself he wants to get to know the Personae more anyway, despite his suspicious, so! Must talk to Natsume more :B
Hikaru: NOT MUCH HAS CHANGED HERE REALLY. Kit is still super super fond of Hikaru as a teammate and a friend, and he enjoys teasing him and poking at him and laughing with him. He meant it when he said he enjoyed Hikaru's company because he laughed-- especially since he realizes that Hikaru takes things like trauma-y games and lost teammates really hard. It's part of the reason he goes out of his way to cheer Hikaru up with jokes and things, because HEART AND SMILE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS (though he'd never say that out loud since that phrase is based on memories). And Kit is just a jokey guy by nature, so having someone willing to join in on that is very nice! He and Hikaru are also both super duper troublemakers, and he definitely recognizes the troublemaker in Hikaru, so one day he is probably going to recruit him for a prank or something |D
And of course, in addition to all that, Kit feels very protective of Hikaru, and has no problems stepping forward and shielding his bro from danger. :|b This also means that Kit has no problems putting himself in danger for this so... orz.

MIKA OBVIOUSLY LOVES YOOOOOOU. Well, Idk if love is the right word since he doesn't know wtf love is yet, but he does know that Lucifer is important and awe-inspiring. In fact, when Rolo was like, "what, he isn't that great", MIKA WAS SO CONFUSED. He couldn't understand that sort of mentality at all AND SO, it kind of annoyed him quite a bit. I mean, even HE can tell that Lucifer is the shiz, how can no one else notice? IT BAFFLES HIM. And this is how he shows his dere. While he isn't like, "KYAAAA BRO <3_<3", he shows it by recognizing/defending how great Lucifer IS, and will defend it no matter who tries to argue with him. Even if Souya came up and was like, "uh so your bro is kind of a dick and is trying to kill you", Mika would be like, "YOUR FACE IS A DICK >:I".

His team doesn't speak too much about their memories and things like that so sometimes he wishes that he could talk to people about that stuff, but he knows that if it came up, he wouldn't feel embarrassed telling Luke that. HE LIKES YOU. :B

Hikaru is kind of blown away by Fawn's optimism by...a lot...
By the time Fawn arrived, he was already resolved into thinking that he'll NEVER GET CLOSE TO ANYBODY SINCE THEY'RE JUST GONNA LEAVE ANYWAY--
And then he ended up liking her. :| She's always so happy and adorable and weird and it's kind of hard NOT to be attracted to that sort of peppiness. She's also ridiculously daring?! So like if you merged Kit and Shirley together and they had a baby, IT WOULD BE CHUCK. WHICH IS ALL SORTS OF WEIRD. BUT ENDEARING.
So in general, first impressions were surprisingly REALLY GOOD LOL! But he also now has this weird urge to protect Chuck from doing stupid things BUT IT SEEMS TO KEEP FAILING. Sob. Why did Aather have to bring in this really nice girl? :(

I think she is taking on an older sister role already, though. She wants to love him and make sure he's doing okay while not really talking about herself much or sharing too much information. So maybe this is just like with a lot of her other relationships: very surface oriented. But I feel like with Dragonfly, she's more likely to try to take moments to quietly remind him that she's sticking around.

Ultimately, it is a family to him! If there is one thing that keeps him from being too traumatized by certain events, it is Coral and the fact that it exists so as long as he always has Coral, he'll be okay! Really, his mindset is almost sort of Coral is the center and everything else revolves around it so really, it's pretty much his foundation in Aather! He does have a couple of issues, but they really are more worries if anything. Loooooove for pink team
The initial resentment towards new members is pretty much faded by this point! He has been able to realize that new members don't mean to replace the older members so it isn't fair to resent them for it! He, himself, replaced someone obv. important, but the older members didn't resent HIM for it so. The initial hesitation with Chuck is more fear of getting close and her disappearing vs. her replacing someone! BUT now it is starting to fade away because Chuck is magical sunshine. :|

Human!Mikage is super silly and it brings out the silly in him! I mention this to all his silly friends but THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HIKARU because Aather kind of traumatized him for a bit 8D I mean while Aather is not constantly dark, dark, dark, the events that happened so far, he never got to experience that in his canon! So it makes him really sad and not wanting to trust this place whatsoever, but Mikage and others help to uplift his spirits a lot. So you are a very important person to him! YOU'RE A REAL PAL, I WOULD GET NAKED WITH YOU ANYDAY.

The silly thing is actually a big part of it for him too. Talking to a lot of friendly, casual people and leftover babydragon mindset has had Mikage figure out pretty quickly how to just be silly and have fun, but he has a lot of hidden insecurity going on. All of his human memories have had Mikage being confident! and inspired! and he had a ~♥~best friend~♥~ ...and aather!Mikage feels like he hasn't been living up to the potential of who he was before, and it builds on lingering issues from his first few days in Aather when some people would react negatively to the babydragon thing (challenging him for explanations, treating him much more coolly than Burupya, etc.). He's found people he can pal around with, but with that lingering doubt and in comparision to ~TEITO~ most of them feel kind of shallow, and he's not too confident about his knighthood either.
Hikaru was reliably fun to dork around with, and Mikage has hardly had to force any cheeriness with him, and he adapted to the babydragon thing quickly. And uses Burupya for cuddle therapy! YAY I'M BEING USEFUL!! So Hikaru was already generally great, but then he went and became the first person outside canonmates to directly acknowledge Mikage as a friend ;-; And he invited human!Mikage to Coral that one time, which as Mikage said in that thread, he'd never really been in anyone's cabin other than as Burupya. So Hikaru has pretty effectively countered some of his issues and established himself as one of the more important people in Aather.
What this also means is that whenever he gets a severely upsetting memory (ONLY A MATTER OF TIME, WHAT WITH THAT MURDERED THING), Hikaru will be the one he goes to after Hakuren or Konatsu.
